WHO WE ARE

The District Multipurpose Socio-Economic Development Organization (DMSED) is a non-profit, non-political, voluntary organization committed to a people-centered development group and is dedicated to serving the rural poor and the downtrodden people. The development program around the Williamnagar area was initiated in 1986 by the Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) with the active cooperation of the Garo Baptist Convention (GBC). Since then efforts are being made to educate village communities on various socio-economic, ecological, and other factors which are not allowing the people in the society, especially the poor and marginalized so they may enjoy sufficient and secure life. The education process prompts the villagers to form different committees like a Village Level Committee, Women Association, Self Help Group, etc. to strive for achieving all-round development in the area. The District level committee drawing its members from the village key leaders in the area and act as an advisory body to different development committee at the village level.
